Following In Our Parents' Footsteps
“From my childhood, my parents read the bible to me, took me to church, prayed with me and taught me what it meant to have a daily relationship with God. My parents played Christian music, read Christian books to me and encouraged me to develop friendships with other Christians in church and the towns we lived in. To this day, I still enjoy listening to Christian music, finding Christian friends on social media, reading the bible and maintaining a personal relationship with God through prayer and faith.
The lifestyle and morals that our parents display for us, can also be compared to footsteps in the snow, leading us through life. When we look at a snowy piece of ground that no one has traveled through, it is hard to tell what parts are safe to walk on. There might be debris buried under the snow that we cannot see, or holes in the ground that the snow has covered over. This makes it difficult to know what path to choose that will lead us away from pitfalls or branches that could cause us to fall. But if the ground already has footprints in it from people who have gone before us, we have a roadmap that we can use to avoid any hidden areas of danger....."
